FM Dar meets Iranian President Masoud

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said on Sunday that Pakistan highly valued its historical relations with Iran, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to the Foreign Office (FO), talking to Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian in Islamabad, the foreign minister said that the basis of these ties was common history, culture and values.  

Speaking on the occasion, the Iranian president said that Iran also attached great importance to its ties with Pakistan, and wanted to enhance collaboration with its neighbour in different sectors. 

Earlier on Sunday, talking to the media, FM Dar said that Pakistan and Iran had been enjoying historic and brotherly relations for decades. 
Dar said that both countries will hold detailed and comprehensive trade talks. "Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif wants to enhance trade volume with Iran," he added.
On Saturday, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar received Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi on his arrival at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The two foreign ministers held wide-ranging talks and reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthen Pakistan-Iran relations.
According to a statement from the Foreign Office, both sides emphasised the importance of enhanced cooperation in regional stability, trade, and economic development.
The ministers also discussed expanding bilateral cooperation in key areas of mutual interest. They agreed on practical steps to promote enduring collaboration and long-term relations between the two neighbouring countries.
