West Indies beat Pakistan by two wickets in second T-20

West Indies won the second T-20 International (T20I) against Pakistan by two wickets at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground on Sunday to level the three-match series 1-1 in what could be described as a nail-biting finish, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

Pakistan scored 133 runs for the loss of nine wickets in the allotted 20 overs.  Hassan Nawaz stood out by scoring 40 runs; Captain Salman Ali Agha scored 38 runs while Fakhar Zaman could manage to score 20 runs. 

Five batsmen, however, failed to enter the double figures. 

Saim Ayub scored seven runs, Sahibzada Farhan three runs, Muhammad Haris four runs, Hassan Ali eight runs and Muhammad Nawaz two runs.  

Chasing a modest 134 runs, the hosts had to suffer early losses as Mohammad Nawaz removed Alick Athanaze for two in the second over and then dismissed Jewel Andrew (12 off 10) in the fourth, reducing West Indies to 26-2 in 3.5 overs.

Captain Salman Ali Agha turned to spin again, and Saim Ayub took the wicket of Sherfane Rutherford, who scored nine off 11 runs, making it 41-3.

Nawaz struck again to dismiss skipper Shai Hope, who scored 21 off 30 balls, leaving the side reeling at 53-4 in the 11th over. 

Saim continued to exert pressure, removing Roston Chase for 16 to grab his second wicket. 

With the run rate climbing, Gudakesh Motie stepped in, smashing two sixes off Hasan Ali to bring the score to 95-5 after 16 overs.

However, his spirited 28 runs off 20 deliveries ended courtesy a sharp run-out by Mohammad Haris.

In the same over, Sufiyan Muqeem dismissed Keacy Carty (3 off 5), leaving West Indies at 98-7 in 16.5 overs.

Needing 36 off 18 balls, Jason Holder and Romario Shepherd held their nerves.

With eight runs required in the final over, Shaheen Afridi returned and removed Shepherd (15 off 11), but Holder sealed the win with a boundary off the last ball, finishing unbeaten on 16 off 10.
