Over 30 students injured in school bus accident near Umerkot

More than 30 students got injured in a school bus accident while going from Umerkot to Karachi on a tour, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday. 

The accident took place near Sufi Faqir on the Umarkot Mirpurkhas main highway.

More than 70 private school students were present on the bus at the time of the accident.

Eyewitnesses said that the incident occurred due to high speed and heavy fog.

Local people reached the accident site and rescued the injured students.

Around 30 students were immediately shifted to Civil Hospital Umarkot.

According to hospital sources, six seriously injured students were referred to Hyderabad, whose conditions are said to be critical.

Police said the injured children are between 12 to 25 years old and are students of sixth to tenth standard.

On the information, police reached the place of the incident and rescued the children and shifted them to the hospital.

Dr Niaz of Civil Hospital Umarkot said that Ramzan, Rashid, Ghulam Mohammad, Zain and Ghulam Mustafa have been referred to Hyderabad.
