Two Counterterrorism Department CTD officers embraced martyrdom in a terrorist attack near Khanewal town of Punjab, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Tuesday.

Assistant Director Naveed and Inspector Nasir were dining at a hotel when they came under a gun attack by unidentified terrorists.

A heavy contingent of police and Additional IG South Punjab Sahibzada Shahzad Sultan reached the spot.

The top cop said that the attackers will be brought to book at the earliest.

The lawmen have launched a hunt for the terrorists, he added.
