Bilawal Bhutto to reach Lahore today, Zardari tomorrow

Former foreign minister and PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, who will reach Lahore today, has convened the party’s Lahore chapter’s emergency meeting at Bilawal House in Bahria Town today in the evening, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

The list of the PPP’s candidates from Lahore will be presented to the party chairman at the meeting, who will then shortlist their names.

Furthermore, differences between the party’s Lahore chapter leaders are also likely to be sorted out at the huddle.

Sources told 24News that former president Asif Ali Zardari was also expected to reach the Punjab capital tomorrow.

Both Bilawal and Zardari will tomorrow chair PPP’s Central Executive Committee (CEC) meeting at which issues such as the distribution of tickets in Punjab and the prospects for Bilawal's win in NA-127, Lahore would be discussed, they disclosed. 

The PPP chairman will also address a workers’ convention at Adda Plot tomorrow, sources said, adding that PML-N leader and former Punjab minister Chaudhry Abdul Ghafoor Meo would announce his decision to join the party at the event.  

They revealed that the PPP had finalized the names of 90 per cent of its candidates in Punjab.

Bilawal would decide who would be the party’s candidates for the Punjab Assembly seats from NA-127, they said.
