Four notorious dacoits gunned down in Rawalpindi firefight with police
Four notorious dacoits who were members of an inter-provincial dacoits gang were gunned down, while two of their accomplices escaped from the scene after attacking a police team in Rawalpindi, reported 24NewsHD TV on Saturday.
According to details, after receiving credible information about car snatching incidents, a police team started checking suspicious cars.
When the police team intercepted the dacoits' cars, they started firing on the police team. During heavy exchange of fire, four dacoits were killed, and two of their accomplices fled away from the scene.
A police spokesman said that the cars, which were being used by the dacoits, were snatched by them at gunpoint in Islamabad.
These dacoits also killed a businessman who was going with his family in the jurisdiction of Saddar Police Station, Rawalpindi.
These dacoits were involved in different car snatching, murder, and dacoity incidents in Rawalpindi, Islamabad, and Peshawar.
Soon after receiving the report, senior police officials reached the site. Later, the police started a search operation to apprehend the accomplices of the accused.
Police arrest wanted dacoit from Shikarpur
Police arrested a notorious dacoit, Mirchu Jatoi, in an injured condition, during a police encounter in the jurisdiction of New Faujdari Police Station Shikarpur.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shikarpur Shahzaib Chachar received information about the entry of dacoits from the Kacha area.
When the police party reached, the dacoits opened fire on the police party. During the exchange of fire, dacoit Mirchu Jatoi was arrested.
Dacoit Mirchu Jatoi was involved in more than 35 serious criminal cases. The Sindh government also announced Rs2 million as his head money.
Police also recovered a klashinkov and bullets from his custody. SSP Shahzaib Jatoi said that police will deal with the criminals with iron hands.
