'Meri Kahani, Meri Zubani': Rajab Butt announces to go live with proofs TODAY
Controversial Pakistani YouTuber Rajab Butt has announced that he will go live on Instagram story today to present all evidence regarding the ongoing legal and public controversies surrounding him, in what he described as “Meri Kahani, Meri Zubani”, his story, in his own words.
Butt, who has been at the center of multiple high-profile incidents over the past year, most recently came under the spotlight after he was assaulted in Karachi’s additional district and sessions court.
Appearing in a bail plea hearing along with fellow TikToker Nadeem Mubarak, alias Naniwaala, Butt was attacked by lawyers inside the court premises, leaving him with a bloodied mouth and torn clothing. The assault reportedly followed a vlog in which Butt allegedly made comments about the lawyers involved in his previous court appearance.
Confirming the incident, his lawyer, Advocate Mian Ali Ashfaq, stated that Butt was physically harmed despite being represented in court, calling the attack “an unfortunate act with no place in any educated society.”
During the hearing, the court extended Butt’s interim bail until January 13, 2026, while his case remains under review. In addition to the assault case, Butt faces charges related to promoting gambling and betting applications.
Legal developments surrounding Butt have also involved his lawyer, Mian Ali Ashfaq, who recently had his practicing licence suspended by the Punjab Bar Council. Ashfaq is challenging the suspension in the Lahore High Court, arguing that the decision was unjust and that the Karachi Bar Association should be included as a respondent in the case.
The controversy stems from Ashfaq’s appearance in Karachi courts during a lawyers’ strike, which the Punjab Bar Council said violated professional conduct and led to unrest in the legal community. The hearing has been adjourned until January 5, 2026, for further proceedings.
Butt’s legal troubles extend beyond the courts. In March 2025, he faced widespread backlash and a blasphemy case after launching a perfume named “295”, a reference to Pakistan’s blasphemy law. Religious groups, including TLP leader Haider Ali Shah Gillani, filed formal complaints, claiming the perfume’s name celebrated an offence and hurt religious sentiments.
Butt released an apology video, holding the Koran and announcing the discontinuation of the product, but the case remains a cautionary example of the sensitivities social media figures navigate in Pakistan.
This series of incidents follows previous controversies, including allegations of blasphemy over his videos and legal trouble for possessing a lion cub, gifted to him during his wedding, which he resolved by agreeing to produce animal awareness content.
Despite these challenges, Butt continues to command one of Pakistan’s largest online followings.
