Police conducted a raid on the residence of Ameer Fatah, the prime suspect in the murder of Javed Butt, brother-in-law of Taifi Butt, in Shah Alam area of Lahore on Saturday.
However, the accused was not found at the premises, police sources said.
According to officials, the house was found locked at the time of the raid, and no family members were present.
During the operation, the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) took three employees of Ameer Fatah into custody for questioning.
Sources said the detained employees will be interrogated to gather information regarding the whereabouts of the main accused and other suspects linked to the case.
Earlier in the day, a sessions court rejected the interim bail plea of Ameer Fatah.
The JIT has already declared him guilty in its investigation.
Javed Butt was shot dead last year on Canal Road by unidentified motorcyclists.
The case remains under investigation, while police efforts to arrest the main suspect have been intensified following the cancellation of his bail.
