Pak-IMF deal likely to be sealed in ongoing month

Pakistan-IMF deal is likely to be sealed in the ongoing month, sources said on Tuesday.

The sources said Pakistan demands 8-10 billion dollars from the IMF while the latter favours lending from 6 to 7 billion dollars.

The insiders said the conditions have been met and the finance ministry informed the IMF about the budget measures.

The IMF demands an increase in electricity prices by Rs 5 per unit before July 10, the sources said, adding that it is no longer necessary for the IMF team to come to Pakistan for the accord.

The final approval of the IMF loan program will be given by the Executive Board.
