Body of drowned youth recovered from Swat River

The body of a 19-year-old youth who drowned while bathing in the Swat River at Bagh Dherai was recovered by Rescue 1122’s water rescue team Thursday, reported 24NewsHD TV.

The deceased has been identified as Sameer Ali, son of Muhammad Umar, and a resident of Fatehpur, Swat.

According to rescue officials, the youth was swept away by the river’s strong current while bathing.

After a search operation, Rescue 1122 successfully retrieved the body and shifted it to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, Khwaza Khela, for medico-legal formalities.

Authorities have once again urged the public to avoid swimming in rivers during monsoon season due to rising water levels and strong currents.
