CTD identifies suspects in Bajaur blast, investigates ISIS-TTP link

The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) has completed an initial report on the Bajaur blast that occurred yesterday, revealing key evidence and raising concerns about a possible link—or rivalry—between ISIS and the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), reported 24NewsHD TV channel Thursday.

According to the CTD, investigators recovered motorcycle parts, explosive material, blood samples, and fragments of an improvised explosive device (IED) from the scene of the explosion.

In a significant development, ISIS's media wing, Amaq News Agency, has claimed responsibility for the attack.

However, the CTD noted that several social media accounts associated with the TTP have also claimed involvement, suggesting a possible nexus or competition between the two militant groups over the deadly strike.

The CTD further confirmed that seven suspected terrorists linked to the incident have been identified. Investigations are ongoing to determine the nature of their involvement and whether the blast was a coordinated effort or part of an internal rivalry for dominance among extremist groups.

The Bajaur explosion is the latest in a series of security challenges facing the region, and officials say more information will be released as the probe progresses.
