Powerful explosion rocks Dalbandin's Fasil Colony, one killed, three injured
A powerful explosion shook the Fasil Colony area near the Eastern Bypass in Dalbandin around 6 PM Thursday, leaving one person dead and three others injured, according to initial reports from local authorities.
The blast occurred at a junk shop where a child was reportedly playing with old equipment when the explosion took place. Preliminary investigations suggest that the shop may have contained unidentified explosive or pressurised material, possibly acquired unknowingly by the junk dealer.
The explosion was strong enough to kill the child on the spot, while three others sustained injuries and were promptly shifted to District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital for medical treatment.
Upon receiving the report, SP Chagai Muhammad Usman Saduzai and DSP Abid Sherzai rushed to the scene to inspect the site and personally oversee the investigation. SP Saduzai later visited DHQ Hospital and directed the medical staff to ensure the injured received the best possible care.
The Bomb Disposal Squad was called in to assess the site for any remaining explosives. Authorities have since sealed off the area and launched a detailed investigation.
SP Saduzai has issued a public advisory urging residents to stay away from the affected site due to fears of additional explosive materials possibly being present.
