A petition was filed in the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Friday against unprecedented hike in the prices of petroleum products (POL), reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

It was pleaded in the petition that the massive rise in prices will multiply the difficulted being faced by the common man.

Yesterday (June 2, 2022), 24News had reported that the new coalition government had made up its mind to show no mercy on the inflation-hit people as only hours after increasing the electricity prices by Rs7.91, it increased the petrol and diesel prices by Rs30 per liter.

Minister for Finance Miftah Ismael had dropped the bombshell at a press conference in which he tried to justify the government’s actions that would definitely lead to a tsunami of inflation and would make it hard for people to survive.

Addressing a press conference, he said the decision has been made after getting the go-ahead signal from the prime minister.
