Mohsin Butt, Parvez Junejo, Bushra Aman appointed FPSC members

The federal government has appointed three new members to the Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC), according to a formal notification issued by the Establishment Division on Tuesday.

According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, Mohsin Hassan Butt has been appointed as a Member of the FPSC. He is a retired officer of the Police Service group in grade 22. 

Similarly, Parvez Ahmed Junejo, a retired officer of the Secretariat Group in grade 22, has also been appointed as a Member of the Commission.

Mrs Bushra Aman, another appointee, is a retired officer of the Pakistan Administrative Service in grade 22. All three members have been appointed for a three-year term.

The Federal Public Service Commission, a constitutional institution established under Article 242 of the Constitution of Pakistan 1973, is responsible for overseeing the recruitment process for civil services and public posts in the federal government.

The FPSC comprises a chairman and 11 members, who are typically retired civil servants of BS-21 or above. As per constitutional requirements, the Commission must include at least one retired judge of the superior judiciary, one retired armed forces officer of at least Major General rank or equivalent, and one female member from the private sector.

Members are appointed by the President of Pakistan for a term of three years or until the age of 65, whichever comes first. 

The Commission operates under the FPSC Ordinance of 1977 and is tasked with conducting examinations, including the highly competitive CSS, to recruit federal civil servants.
