Police thwart terrorist attacks on Bannu, Bajaur police stations
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police have repulsed two terrorist attacks on two police station in Bannu and Bajaur districts, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
Sources said that a group of terrorists attacked Miryan Police Station in Bannur with the help of small and heavy weapons. But an effective response by local police forced the terrorists to escape from the scene.
Blood spots were visible at the site of the incident. Police force were now using drone cameras to detect and destroy hideouts of the fleeing terrorists.
District Police Officer (DPO) Saleem Abbas Kulachi lauded the response of the police. He directed to expedite actions against terrorists.
In the second incident, cops repulsed another attack by terrorists on a police station in Bajaur District.
Four policemen including the SH were injured in the attack on the police station in Loyi Momand area at 11:30 pm on Monday night.
The terrorists continued to fire different weapons on the police station for 11 minutes and the police’s retaliation lasted for over an hour.
According to DPO Waqas Rafiq, the injured have been shifted to the DHQ Hospital in Khar for medical aid.
Mohsin Naqvi commends police personnel
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi paid glowing tributes to police personnel for foiling terrorists attack on Miryan Police Post.
He said that brave personnel of Bannu police showed outstanding performance during encounter with terrorists.
He said that the police retaliated with iron hands and foiled terrorists' nefarious designs.
He congratulated the entire police force of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for their sacrifices in the fight against terrorism.
Mohsin Naqvi said that the federal government is committed to routing out the menace of terrorism from society.
