Hindering Nawaz’s treatment equivalent to murder: Shehbaz

March 3, 2020 11:09 PM

PML-N President and Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly Shehbaz Shairf has said that attempts to hinder former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s treatment are equivalent to his murder.

Shehbaz Sharif condemned government’s letter to United Kingdom for deportation of PML-N supremo and said that government had no authority to write such a letter. He termed government’s letter as immoral and said that such actions reveal government’s criminal and malicious intensions.

Shehbaz Sharif said that Islamabad High Court granted an eight-week bail to Nawaz Sharif and directed to approach government for extension. However, court also ruled that it can be approached against any act of government. He said that government’s action is contempt of court.

The PML-N leader said that Punjab Health Minister and doctors of government medical board confirmed that Nawaz Sharif should be treated abroad.

He also said that Nawaz Sharif is regularly fulfilling all the requirements set by the court for this bail. He also said that such actions by corrupt and incompetent government are making mockery of the country.

Shehbaz Sharif warned the authorities that hindering Nawaz’s treatment is equivalent to his murder. He added that failed government is playing with health of the ex-PM and government’s political hostility is illegal.

The president of the PML-N said that in light of the law and court’s order, Nawaz Sharif has basic human right to live and contradicting statements of government ministers on his brother s health are proof of government’s ill intentions.

Shehbaz Sharif said the government’s move was an open contravention of court orders and contempt of court. “PM Imran Khan is stooping to such lows in personal enmity and to politically victimise his opponent… these actions are resulting in making Pakistan a laughing stock,” he remarked.

“These illegal steps based on the government’s political enmity and vendetta will not dampen our spirits… we will use the basic human right of living in the light of law and court orders,” he maintained.  He said that Nawaz Sharif faced imprisonment and hardships during the tenure of a dictator, adding that it is misunderstanding of Imran Khan that he could weaken the resolve of Nawaz Sharif.
