That’s why people love Lahore Qalandars no matter what
Lahore Qalandars owner and biggest fan, Fawad Rana remained absent from the stadium this season of Pakistan Super League yet but his enthusiasm and approach has made the Qalnadars the most loved franchise in the showpiece event of the Pakistan cricket board.
And Lahorites are not much behind him in supporting the team despite the team’s bashing in the every season of the PSL that also gives the same taste and aura as of supportin Pakistan’s national team due to its unpredictable nature.
On Tuesday, Qalandars again came from nowhere to stun the whole cricketing world watching the PSL with another stunning performance. And it was also for a very very special guest invited by Qalandars CEO Atif Rana after he refused to not support Qlandars despite heartbreak.
The very little kid comes into the limelight when his video surfaced on the social media after the second straight loss of the Qalandars at Gaddafi Stadium. A cute little fan can be crying after getting disheartened by Lahore’s last over defeat at the hands of Islamabad United. The diehard fan of Qalandars didn’t seem too happy with Usman Shinwari for throwing away the game. Instead, he wanted Shaheen Afridi to bowl the last over and win it for his side, however, he had already bowled out his quota. He also seemed quite angry at Fakhar Zaman for not hitting enough sixes. When asked to support Multan Sultans, he said he will not support them, rather he will only support the Pakistan team. His elders asked him not to watch Lahore’s matches, to which he replied that he will do that only to see how they lose.
His video also caught the attention of Qalandars CEO Atif Rana who not only invited him to the match but also took him into the lap during the match and both celebrated the success of the team.
PSL host Fakar-e-Aam also interviewed the little supporter along with Qalandars CEO and also posted a selfie with the boy on his twitter account
Met the young passionate @lahoreqalandars fan who we all saw crying on the internet....he is in high spirits today and I hope the Qalandars don’t disappoint him and millions of other fans. #HBLPSLV #HBLPSL #HBLPSL5 #LQvQG pic.twitter.com/z3nlvZpAaQ— Fakhr-e-Alam (@falamb3) March 3, 2020
Qalandars may not win on the ground but they know well how to win the hearts. It is due to the Qalandars that many youngsters have come into the cricket’s limelight from humble backgrounds and Qalandars are also proving a nursery for Pakistan cricket. And at the heart of this organisational success is Atif Rana who is religiously playing his part for the game of the cricket and the country without losing heart from the below par results.
