Polling for the Senate elections in Sindh Assembly resumed after it was halted on Wednesday noon following a mobile phone was recovered from PTI MPA Khurram Sher Zaman, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The polling was stopped at once after the recovery of the phone from Sher Zaman’s pocked.
The PPP lawmakers protested to the presiding officer over the recovery of the phone.
In a move to ensure the sanctity of vote, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) had barred the members of the relevant assemblies from bringing mobile phones or any other electronic device to the premises of the polling station on the Senate elections day.
In a notification issued by the ECP Secretariat to all provincial election offices a week ago, the returning officers had been directed to ensure that no voter may take with him\her mobile phone or any other electronic device to the screened-off compartment where he/she marks preference on the ballot paper.
