Bilawal Bhutto's meeting with PM Shehbaz postponed

A scheduled meeting of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif today has been postponed, 24NewsHD TV Channel reported on Monday.

According to the TV channel report, the meeting was postponed due to some unavoidable engagements of the prime minister, and now PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto will meet him tomorrow or the day after tomorrow at the prime minister’s house, where heads of federal coalition parties will convene to discuss administrative matters.

As per the report, Bilawal will express to the PM his party’s serious reservations over violations of agreements made between the PPP and the ruling coalition.

Sources revealed that in the meeting, Bilawal will also raise concerns over the Punjab government’s refusal to provide funds to PPP MPAs, an issue that has created tensions between the allies.

Bilawal, who is returning from his diplomatic tour of the US and Europe, is expected to make a strong case for the PPP's interests, sources added.

During his international visit, he met key political and economic figures and addressed forums like the Oxford Union.

Earlier, on January 28, Bilawal spoke at a luncheon organised for Karachi’s business community at the Royal Taj Marquee near Bilawal House in Clifton.

Expressing Sindh’s distrust in the federal government’s electricity supply, he stressed the need for the province to generate its own power. “We must produce our own electricity. Just as Saudi Arabia has oil, we have coal,” Bilawal declared.
