Woman kills husband’s other wife with a dough-roller blow

A woman brutally killed her co-wife after hitting her with a bailna (dough-roller), packed her body into a sack and hid it in Liaquatabad area of Lahore, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.

Police sources said that the accused woman who was later identified as Sadia hid the dead body of her co-wife on the roof of the house.

After passage of five days, residents of the area felt stench and informed the police.

Soon after receiving the report a police team reached the area and arrested the accused.

Further investigation was underway.

A report by UN Women and UNODC reveals that globally, 85,000 women and girls were killed intentionally in 2023. 60 percent of these homicides – 51,100 - were committed by an intimate partner or a family member. 

The data shows that 140 women and girls die every day at the hands of their partner or a close relative, which means one woman or girl is killed every 10 minutes.
