The US Embassy and its missions in Pakistan have cancelled all visa appointments until March 6 (Friday), citing security reasons triggered by violent protests across the country, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to a post uploaded by the US Embassy on X platform Tuesday morning, the US Embassy in Islamabad and the Consulates General in Lahore and Karachi have cancelled all visa appointments through Friday, March 6, due to the current security situation.

A day earlier on Monday the US Embassy had called off all appointments for visas and American Citizen Services for one day, but today it extended the cancellation until Friday.

Demonstrations have erupted in major cities, including Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, and Skardu, following reports of US attacks targeting Iran’s Supreme Leader. Authorities have stepped up security and imposed restrictions to prevent further unrest.

The US Embassy has also warned its personnel to limit movement and urged American citizens in Pakistan to stay alert, avoid large crowds, and update their registration with the Smart Traveller Enrollment Program.
