PTI MPAs in federal capital in bid to remove CM Kamal
According to sources, parliamentary leader of PTI Balochistan Sardar Yar Muhammad Rind has reached Islamabad apparently in pursuance of his party members’ bid to remove Balochistan chief minister. Other PTI members have also started reaching the federal capital.
The sources said that PTI delegation under the leadership of Mr Rind would meet Federal Minister for Planning, Development, Reforms and Special Initiatives Asad Umar. The delegation would apprise Mr Umar of the PTI, Balochistan Chapter’s reservations over the conduct of Chief Minister Jam Kamal and his removal from the office.
The sources said provincial leaders of PTI were of the view that Chief Minister Kamal was not acceptable to them.
Reportedly, tensions brewed between CM Balochistan and PTI parliamentarians of the provincial assembly. During a recent trip of Prime Minister Imran Khan to Balochistan, the PTI members also apprised him of their displeasure over the demeanor of Chief Minister Kamal. They wanted him to be replaced. They were of the view that Chief Minister Kamal was damaging PTI’s reputation in the province.
Earlier, differences in the Balochistan government have been intensified as Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) members were mobilized to move a no-confidence motion against their Chief Minister Jam Kamal in the provincial assembly.
Such differences intensified on Sunday when the CM withdrew the portfolio of Local Government Ministry from senior party leader Sardar Saleh Bhootani. In reaction, he became angry and started manoeuvring.
Around seven to 10 annoyed legislators of the BAP led by Sardar Saleh Bhootani started contacts and consultations with the likeminded members of the Balochistan Assembly.
Reportedly, Sardar Saleh Bhootani has succeeded in winning support of Balochistan Assembly Speaker Abdul Qadoos Bezinjo in this regard.
The BAP leadership is optimistic that leadership of the Pakistan Tehreek Insaf (PTI) Balochistan will support those bringing a no-confidence motion against the CM.
Sardar Saleh Bhootani said that he was not taken into confidence before withdrawing the portfolio by the chief minister.
