Eidul Fitr is being celebrated across the country today (Tuesday) with religious fervor and traditional zeal, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The Eid prayers were offered across the country and big and small Eid congregations were held in all cities including Lahore, Karachi and Quetta. 

Special prayers were offered for the prosperity and stability of the country. Strict security arrangements were made at the Eidgahs. 

A big congregation of Eidul Fitr was held at Faisal Mosque where President Arif Alvi, National Assembly Speaker Raja Pervaiz Ashraf and others offered Eid prayers.

However, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif offered Eid prayers in his hometown, at Jati Umrah, Lahore where Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz also offered the Eid prayers

After saying prayers, both Shehbaz and Hamza mixed up with people and exchanged Eid greetings with the. 

Both President Alvi and Prime Minister Shehbaz congratulated nation on the Eid festivities.

On his twitter handle today, President Alvi said: “I would like to congratulate everyone on the happy occasion of Eid. In Ramazan, we seek forgiveness, take care of the poor and fast for the sake of purity and understand the pangs of hunger. But Eid is the name of celebration, my friends. I pray for the prosperity and greatness of Pakistan.

Eid Mubarak!”

Prime Minister in his twitter Eid message said: ““Today, Eid Day is more than a special day, it is a special occasion of unparalleled unity. Today is not a day to complain, it is a day to embrace. It is a day to unite the nation and it is a day to smile together. Eid greetings from me to all Pakistanis and every Muslim living in the Islamic world. 

While addressing people at Jati Umrah, Prime Minister Shehbaz said that he congratulated people from the core of his heart. He said that this Eid would rid the people of their worries and bring joys for all. He said now Pakistan was going through the economic crisis, ‘but don’t worry, we realize people’s hardships and we will try to fix it’. 

Shehbaz Sharif while mentioning the current economic challenges as ‘critical’ ones, expressed his resolve that they would overcome them with the support of coalition partners in the government. The prime minister said “Pakistan is currently under severe economic stress, but there is no need to get worried, as under a collective responsibility, they along with the support of other allied parties will not leave any stone unturned to address these issues.”  

The prime minister also hinted that he would soon address the nation and mention these challenges in detail. He also prayed to Almighty Allah that the auspicious day of eid might be harbinger of progress and prosperity, enabling them to steer the country out of the difficult situation.  

The prime minister further observed that they would have to cover this journey towards progress and prosperity with dedication and hard work coupled with honesty. He said it was a message for the whole nation, adding in this struggle, they would require prayers and support of the nation.  

He assured the nation that under Nawaz Sharif’s leadership, they would resume the journey of rapid progress and prosperity that had been disrupted during 2018 by an incompetent government which wreaked havoc with the economy. 

The prime minister also thanked the people and the party workers for their steadfast support for the PML-N leadership who had faced trials and tribulations during the last four years. Sharif family and the PML-N leadership would never forget your staunch support, he added. 

While talking to Eid congregation, Hamza lamented that the Imran Niazi government gave nothing to the people except inflation. He vowed to set up committees in Lahore which would control prices. 

Hamza assured that his government would restart the journey of fast paced progress that had been stalled in the last four years.
