Jamiat Ahle-Hadith appoints Maulana Ali Turab as acting Ameer
The funeral prayer of Professor Senator Sajid Mir offered, laid to rest in Sialkot
Jamiat Ahle-Hadith (JAH) has appointed new Ameer after the death of Professor Senator Sajid Mir who died in Sialkot on Saturday at the age of 86, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Shura Council of the Central Jamiat Ahle Hadith Pakistan has appointed Maulana Ali Abu Muhammad Turab as the acting Ameer. Maulana Ali Muhammad Turab is from Quetta.
The Shura Council appointed the Ameer after mutual consultation after the death of Professor Sajid Mir. Earlier, the funeral prayer of Professor Senator Sajid Mir was offered. The funeral prayer was led by Sheikh Hadith Hafiz Masood Alam. The funeral prayer was offered at the grounds of Allama Iqbal College. A large number of political, social and religious leaders participated in the funeral prayer.
Defense Minister Khawaja Asif, Ahsan Iqbal, Maulana Asad Mahmood, Allama Ibtisam Elahi Zaheer, Abdul Ghafoor Haideri, Maulana Ahmed Ludhianvi participated.
Professor Senator Sajid Mir born in Sialkot in 1938, the senator had been ill for some time and had undergone surgery at a hospital in Islamabad a month ago. But instead of recovering, his condition deteriorated and he again moved to Sialkot where he breathed his last. Mir had also undergone a heart surgery 10 years ago. He had been leading his party for the last 40 years, and had been elected to the Senate five times. He was considered to be a close associate of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif.
