Karachi cops steal 34kg of seized charas
Police are notorious for patronising criminals in Karachi with some of them feeling that there is no limit to this practice. That’s why they didn’t even hesitate to steal the charas recovered during a raid some days back.
In this connection, 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday reported that five officials from the Jackson Police Station in Karachi seized 40 kilogramme of charas from a rickshaw. However, the quantity showed in the official record was six kilogrammes only.
But this criminal act couldn’t remain a secret for long as the rickshaw driver revealed during the interrogation that he was transporting a total of 40 kilogrammes of the contraband.
This disclosure made the higher authorities to intervene and grill the police party involved in the episode.
Later, the probe showed that the five policemen were involved in drugs business and had stolen 34 kilogrammes of charas out of the seized quantity.
As a result, the SSP suspended the five policemen involved in the episode with a case registered against them with the same police station.
