Truck overturns onto rickshaw in Lahore; 4 family members dead
Rescue 1122 officials confirm all victims belonged to the same family: Police take two surviving children into custody after a road accident near MAO College
A tragic road accident occurred near Mohammadan Anglo Oriental (MAO) College in Lahore when a speeding truck loaded with bottles overturned onto a rickshaw last night.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, the crash resulted in the deaths of four people, including two women, while two children travelling in the rickshaw miraculously survived.
According to rescue officials, all of the deceased belonged to the same family.
The victims were identified as 67-year-old Shafiq, his 60-year-old wife Shabana, their 35-year-old son Sajid, and Sajid’s 32-year-old wife Iqra, who also lost her life in the accident.
The bodies of the deceased were shifted to Mayo Hospital for medico-legal procedure, while the two children who survived were handed over to the local police.
Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident and the cause of the truck’s loss of control.
