Karachi milkmen to sell milk at Rs 300 per liter from Oct 11
Dairy and Cattle Farmers Association (DCFA) has announced milk in Karachi will be sold at Rs 300 per liter from October 11, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
DCFA President Shakir Umer Gujjar said a fruitless meeting was held in the office of the Commissioner Karachi on October 2. He said during the meeting it was briefed that the production cost of milk has reached Rs 271 per liter and after adding all the costs, consumers will get milk at Rs 300 per liter.
The proposal to issue a notification was considered but due to unavoidable reasons, the Commissioner Karachi did not issue the notification immediately, as the meeting was adjourned midway.
Dairy Farmers Associations, Retailers Association and Wholesalers Association also staged a sit-in inside the Commissioner's office. There demand was to immediately issue a notification regarding the new price of milk, so that dairy farmers and other stakeholders can continue their business otherwise, the implementation of the new milk prices will start from October 11 in consultation with all stakeholders.
