Women teachers, students protest privatization of govt colleges in Haripur

Women teachers and students staged protest demonstration in Haripur against privatization of government colleges by the provincial government, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.

According to report, staff and students, including the administration, continued to protest at the Government Postgraduate Girls College.

In addition to the college staff, female students, professors and class four watchmen also protested against privatization of the Government Postgraduate Girls College by the provincial government.

In the protest, speakers emphasized the privatization of institutions that are a burden on the country's economy instead of the education and health sectors.

The protesters demanded that it is the government's responsibility to provide free education and health facilities according to the Constitution of Pakistan.

The protesters demanded that a case be registered against the provincial government for violating the Constitution of Pakistan.

The government should withdraw its decision and refrain from taking steps against educational institutions, protesters demanded.

Protesters said our protest and boycott of classes will continue until the government withdraws its decision.
