The crime graph in Punjab is high as the police’s own statistics speak. In the first eight months of the current year, thieves had stolen vehicles and motorbikes worth more than Rs600 million, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.

Police statistics shows that 9,713 motorcycles and 624 vehicles had been stolen throughout the Punjab province.

In last eight months 332 vehicles and more than 5,900 motorcycles were stolen from Lahore only.

In Lahore, 27 citizens are losing vehicles and motorcycles daily, Lahore accounts for 60 percent of stolen motorcycles while 52 percent of car thefts were from Punjab’s capital only.

Only nine percent of stolen vehicles and motorcycles were recovered from Lahore, which shows poor performance of the Punjab police.
