Creation of new provinces to spur economic growth: Mian Amer Mehmood

Punjab Group of Colleges Chairman Mian Amer Mahmood has said that creation of new provinces will improve access to justice, increase revenue and spur economic growth, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

He was addressing a nationwide awareness campaign on the theme ‘Pakistan of 2030 – Challenges, Opportunities and New Paths’ organized by the Association of Private Sector Universities of Pakistan (APSUP) at the Punjab University Institute of Business Administration as the chief guest, in Lahore on Wednesday.

During the question-answer session, Mian Amer Mahmood said that about two hundred and half years the kings were in power, and they used to conquer more land to expand their kingdoms.

Mian Amer Mahmood went on to say that people became more conscious when humanity takes a turn. 

He said that it is the responsibility of the state to provide the best facilities to its people. Mian Amir Mahmood said that 250 million children are out of school.

He said that the rule of law, discipline, economy, and welfare are pillars of any society. Mian Amir Mahmood said that the rights of people and transparency should be ensured.

He revealed that Pakistan is at 129the palce out of 142 in the rule of law nations. He said that if we convert divisions into provinces, then a marginal decrease will be witnessed in expenditure.

Mian Amer Mahmood said that they are not short of resources, but they need leadership. He said that they are facing a challenge of leadership. 

“No one can control this system alone. The government should appoint a chief secretary in place of a commissioner and an IG in place of a regional police officer.”

Mian Amer Mahmood said that a decrease in the expenditure budget will enhance the development budget.

He said that murder cases take 16 to 17 years to reach a conclusion, which destroyed both sides.

Mian Amer Mahmood said that the local government system could not be run successfully in the country.
