PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif has said that Imran Khan and his coterie have clearly violated the constitution bemoaning that General ® Pervez Musharraf too had committed the same unconstitutional folly before, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

He along with other opposition leaders was holding a presser in Islamabad on Monday. He taunted Imran that since he could not face the no-trust motion and in the face of his clear defeat, his deputy speaker gave an unconstitutional ruling.

Hitting hard at the National Assembly deputy speaker, Shehbaz said if he had any objection, why the motion was granted leave by the speaker’s office. He said on March 24, the speaker granted leave to the no-confidence motion as per the wishes of the National Assembly members and put it on the assembly’s agenda. He said if the speaker had any objection, he should have rejected it in his office. He said Article 5 was being used as a ruse to just throw it out.

The PML-N president lamented that Imran made NA deputy speaker his tool. He sarcastically said that after the lecture delivered by the deputy speaker, all 197 MNAs who were to vote in favour of the no-confidence motion became ‘traitors’.

He said Imran Niazi imposed unconstitutional civil martial law and he broke the constitution under a conspiracy. He said 3rd April would be remembered as Black Day in country’s history.

“Both Imran and his team are violators of constitution,” Shehbaz added.

On Imran’s threat letter issue, he expressed his bafflement saying if our diplomat had received a threat letter from another envoy of a foreign country on March 7, how come the government extended its invitation to the government official of the same foreign country on March 16.

He said that opposition would protest against deputy speaker’s ruling in every nook and corner of this country. He said the Supreme Court had stopped the government functionaries from taking any step which transcends the country’s constitution.

He rued that this thing happened despite the assurance of the attorney general of Pakistan to the Supreme Court that voting on the no-confidence would be held.
