Pakistan, Bahrain agree to promote dialogue for regional peace

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with his Bahraini counterpart Abdul Latif bin Rashid Al Zayani to discuss the evolving regional situation.

According to the spokesperson for Pakistan's Foreign Office, the two leaders held detailed discussions on the latest developments in the region and emphasized the urgent need to de-escalate tensions. Dar stressed that dialogue and diplomacy are essential to ensuring lasting peace and stability.

Both sides agreed that peaceful engagement remains the only viable path forward and reaffirmed their commitment to promoting stability in the Middle East and Gulf regions. During the conversation, Dar highlighted the “five-point initiative” jointly proposed by Pakistan and China, describing it as a significant framework for regional peace.

The spokesperson added that the Pakistan-China formula has gained importance in addressing ongoing challenges in the Middle East and the Gulf. The Bahraini foreign minister appreciated Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing tensions and fostering peace.

Both countries agreed to enhance cooperation at international forums, including the United Nations Security Council, to jointly work toward conflict resolution and global stability.

The two sides resolved to remain in close contact and continue consultations on regional and international issues in the future.
