Rains claim four more lives in KP and Balochistan
At least four more people died in different rain-related incidents in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
As many as two people were killed as torrential rain wreaked havoc in Landi Kotal on Friday night.
The deluge, caused by the rain, washed away a car carrying three people.
While the bodies of two persons were fished out, search for the third one was underway till the filing of this story.
On Friday, 24News TV channel reported that a child was killed while several others were injured after the roof of a house caved in in Landi Kotal due to rain.
The incident took place in Zakha Khel Alacha area.
Several other incidents of roof and wall collapse were also reported, while matriculation students faced difficulties in reaching the examination centers.
Heavy rain also led to floods in streams and nullahs.
30 killed in rain-related incidents in KP: PDMA
As many as 30 people have been killed while 85 have been injured in different incidents of roof and wall collapse in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) due to rains since March 25.
According to a report released by the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), there are 20 children among the dead, while the remaining are five men and five women.
On the number of people injured, the report has said that there are 38 children, 36 men and 11 women.
It has been informed that so far 140 homes have been either partially or completely destroyed. “Out of these, partial damage has been caused to 115 homes while 25 homes have been completely destroyed.
Two die in Balochistan roofs collapse
Two people breathed their last when roofs of their houses collapsed in Balochistan cities of Zhob and Kachhi on Saturday, taking the total number of deaths during the current rain spell to nine.
The rain continued in different cities including Quetta Valley on Saturday.
After Ziarat, Kanchughi area of Killa Saifullah had received snowfall on Friday, said the PDMA.
Rain and flash floods damaged properties in six districts, the PDMA said.
