Two people were injured after a speeding trailer crashed into a bungalow in Defence Phase-II of Karachi, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.

Later, Rescue 1122 staffers safely pulled out two labourers, who had got stuck in the building.

Spokesman for Rescue 1122 said that the injured labourers, 32-year-old Ramzan and 29-year-old Arshad, were shifted to a hospital.

It is no secret that Karachi is no stranger to accidents involving trailers, which have resulted in the loss of several lives in the port city.

The situation led to calls for a ban on the entry of these vehicles in the city.

However, trailers still roam freely on city roads.

The latest incident is different because it has taken place in a posh locality.

In an incident reported from near Korangi Chamra Chowrangi of Karachi over a week ago, a trailer weighing 18 tonnes crashed into an electric pole, overturned and fell into nearby drain after its driver reportedly started playing with a rooster and got distracted, eventually losing control of the vehicle.

According to the Karachi Traffic Police, no casualties were, however, reported in the incident.
