AIOU holds 78th BASR meeting, takes key steps to enhance research quality

Allama Iqbal Open University held the 78th meeting of its Board of Advanced Studies and Research (BASR) under the chairmanship of Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Nasir Mahmood on Tuesday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Several important decisions were taken during the meeting to strengthen the university's research framework.

During the two-day meeting, 33 PhD synopses and 61 MS/MPhil research topics were presented for approval.

The board also reviewed 19 completed PhD dissertations and 13 MS/MPhil research projects submitted by faculty members.

Professor Dr Aneela Kamal also attended the meeting and participated in discussions on enhancing the quality of academic research.

Addressing the meeting, Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Nasir Mahmood directed all PhD scholars to complete their research milestones within the prescribed timeframe.

He also said that PhD scholars will now be required to submit their research proposals within six months of completing their coursework.
