PM Shehbaz chairs meeting on Pakistan Land Port Authority affairs

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday chaired a meeting on the affairs of the Pakistan Land Port Authority (PLPA), during which officials briefed participants on the authority's performance and ongoing initiatives.

Sources said officials of the Pakistan Land Port Authority gave a detailed presentation on the authority's operations, future plans and measures being taken to improve border management and trade facilitation.

The prime minister appreciated the initiatives undertaken by the Pakistan Land Port Authority and acknowledged its role in improving the country's border infrastructure and operational efficiency, sources added.

The meeting was attended by federal ministers and other senior government officials.

According to officials, the federal government established the Pakistan Land Port Authority last year to develop and manage land ports across the country.

Officials said the authority is responsible for facilitating the movement of goods and passengers through border crossings and creating an effective coordination mechanism among various border management agencies.

They added that the authority is also playing an important role in promoting trade, streamlining border operations and enhancing the competitiveness of Pakistan's regional land ports.
