No signs of improvement in Lahore’s air quality

The air quality in Lahore is not showing any signs of improvement as level of pollution recorded in the city was 325 AQI making it again to stay on top of the most polluted city of the world index, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.

The air quality level in Lahore’s DHA Phase VIII was recorded 428; in Gulberg’s Maratab Ali Road 420; Kot Lakhpat 397; Model Town 388; DHA Phase II 347; Thokar Niaz Beg 345; and in Fateh Garh, the AQI level was 335. 

Due to air pollution, citizens are suffering from different ailments of throat, nose, eyes and skin. 

In the morning, the Lahore airport was engulfed by little fog and visibility was reduced to 800m. Due to low visibility, pilots are facing difficulties in landing and taking off their aircraft. 

The airport authorities have relayed warning to the national and international airlines. 

According to the metrological report, in the next 24 hours the weather would remain cold and dry and wind would blow at 6km/h. There is no chance of rain today. The level of humidity will remain 51%. The minimum temperature will hover around 11c and maximum 25c.
