PM assures Lankan President strict action in Sialkot tragedy

Prime Minister Imran Khan assured the Sri Lankan President that strict action will be taken against the accusers involved in the Sialkot tragedy.

The 24News HD TV channel reported on Saturday, PM Imran wrote on the social networking site Twitter that he had a telephone conversation with Sri Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa.

The PM said the Pakistani nation is also angry over the killing of a Sri Lankan citizen in Sialkot and the nation is feeling ashamed.

The prime minister also told the Sri Lankan president that more than 100 people had been arrested.

Earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan had said in his tweet, "the horrific attack on the factory in Sialkot and the burning alive of the Sri Lankan manager is a shameful day for Pakistan".

"I am overseeing the investigation and no effort will be spared to bring all those responsible to justice," he said. The prime minister had said that "arrests are being made."

It is pertinent to mention that a mob in Sialkot had brutally killed the manager of a local factory in Sialkot yesterday, accusing him of blasphemy and setting his body on fire.

Till now 118 culprits of Sialkot incident, including all main culprits, have been arrested so far. FIR registered under Anti-Terrorism Act.

Victim Priyantha's wife Niroshi's appeal to PM Imran

Wife of Sri Lankan citizen Priyantha Diaudhana, Ms Niroshi while talking to media appealed a fair inquiry from Sri Lankan President and Pakistani PM into the matter.

Niroshi demanding a fair inquiry of the incident and justice for his husband said he was an innocent man and the killing of him was an inhumane act. The victim Priyantha has two sons, aged nine and fourteen.
