PML-N, PPP ahead of PTI in second phase of AJK polls

According to unofficial results of the AJK local government elections, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) have collectively bagged more seats than the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The PTI won 30 seats of District Council in Poonch division. The PML-N bagged 21 seats, PPP 16, Jammu and Kashmir People’s Party (JKPP) six, Muslim Conference five, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) one and independent candidates bagged seven seats of District Council.
According to the unofficial results of elections in 22 wards of Municipal Corporation, JKPP bagged seven out of total 22 seats, PPP four, PML-N three and PTI bagged three seats.
The results of 708 out of 787 seats of councilors have been received. According to the results, PTI leads the race with 229 seats followed by independent candidates with 199 seats, PML-N with 129 seats, PPP with 104 seats, JKPP with 28 seats, JUI with four seats, All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference with four seats, TLP with seven seats and Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) with four seats.
PML-N wins in Haveli, leads in Poonch as second phase of AJK polls completes
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) beat its opponent parties in Bagh and Sudhnoti districts of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) as the second phase of the local bodies’ elections on 875 seats of Poonch division was completed.
On the other hand, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) gained victory in Haveli district and led the race in Poonch district.
As per the unofficial results, out of the 19 seats of Sudhnoti district council, the PTI bagged 11 seats.
The PML-N won four seats, independent candidates two and JUI-AJK won one seat. The result of one seat was awaited.
In the district headquarters municipality, the PTI bagged five out of eight seats, independent candidates won two while the PML-N won one seat only.
In Haveli district, the PML-N won seven out of 12 Union Council seats. Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) got four seats while the ruling party PTI could get one seat only. The PML-N also won two out of three Town Committee seats of the district.
In Rawalakot municipal corporation of Poonch district, the Jammu Kashmir Peoples Party (JKPP) clinched seven seats. The PPP won four seats, PML-N and PTI won three each while the independent candidates won five seats.
In Poonch district council, PTI and PML-N bagged eight seats each. The PPP bagged six seats, JKPP five while the independent candidates clinch two seats.
Also, the PTI workers conducted aerial firing in jubilation over the victory of their party on nine seats in Bagh district.
The incident of jubilation firing by the PTI workers took place in Dir Kot tehsil of Bagh district.
The aerial firing spread panic in the area, for the PTI workers continued firing shots in the air in the presence of police which remained a silent spectator.
