Dengue outbreak escalates in Punjab: 14,432 confirmed cases across 36 districts

At least 97 new cases were reported on Sunday as the dengue crisis is intensifying in Punjab.
According to the official reports, Lahore bears the brunt with 6,602 dengue cases, leading the unfortunate tally, followed by Rawalpindi (2,633), Gujranwala (1,533), Multan (1,379), and Faisalabad (851).
The situation persists, with Lahore reporting 61 new cases, Rawalpindi 2, Gujranwala 11, Multan 10, Faisalabad 4, and Sheikhupura 2.
In the last 24 hours, Narowal, Okara, Muzaffargarh, Bahawalpur, Vehari, Lodhran, and Khoshab each reported one case.
Presently, 72 dengue patients receive treatment in various Punjab hospitals, 38 of them in Lahore. Health Secretary Ali Jaan Khan implores citizens to maintain clean surroundings, emphasizing prevention and urges cooperation with health department teams.
