The former prime minister made an announcement of ‘Jail Bharo Tehreek’ to mount pressure on the government for snap polls. In his televised address, Imran Khan asked his party leaders and workers to get ready for the campaign and wait for his call.
He stressed: “We are not scared of getting arrested as millions of people are ready to fill the jails,” he added. The former prime minister said his party could have opted for a nationwide strike but will choose to fill the prisons instead in light of the fears that the country's economy might deteriorate.
