Constitutional Court establishes provincial desks to facilitate litigants

In an important step aimed at facilitating litigants and lawyers, the Federal Constitutional Court of Pakistan has established institutional desks in all four provinces for the filing of cases.

According to an official circular issued by the Registrar of the Federal Constitutional Court, new petitions, appeals, applications, and other matters pertaining to the court can now also be received and filed at desks functioning at provincial headquarters, in addition to Islamabad. The arrangement will remain in place until further orders.

The circular states that this measure has been taken in partial modification of an earlier circular dated November 26, 2025, and is intended to provide greater convenience to advocates and litigants across the country.

Lawyers and litigants have been advised to file their cases before the Federal Constitutional Court in accordance with the newly introduced procedure. The circular further clarifies that cases may continue to be filed at the desk established in Islamabad as well.

The notification has been issued with the approval of the Chief Justice of the Federal Constitutional Court of Pakistan.
