A girl on Wednesday attempted suicide by jumping from the fourth floor of the Lahore General Hospital, 24NewsHD TV channel reported.

Police said the girl, Ayesha daughter of Mohammad Nawaz, hails from Abbottabad, was admitted to the Medical Unit II of the hospital.

The officials added that the girl is mentally unstable, adding that she has been shifted to the Surgical Emergency in an injured condition.

Reports said the girlssss jumped from the fourth floor of the OPD building of the hospital. Police further said that girl’s condition is out of danger.

Earlier in January 2026, a first-semester pharmacy student sustained injuries after she jumped from the second floor at the University of Lahore.

Lahore Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Operations Faisal Kamran said that the student was originally from Narowal, adding that her parents had been asked to come to Lahore.

“She jumped from the second floor of the pharmacy department,” the DIG said, adding that for now, the incident appeared to be “a suicide attempt”.

However, he continued, police had yet to ascertain the reason behind the incident.

The official further stated that the student’s legs had been fractured, and she had been hospitalised. “Her condition is serious, but there is no severe head injury,” DIG Kamran added.
