Pakistan-Ireland T20 World Cup warm-up washed out by rain in Colombo
The ninth warm-up match of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 between Pakistan and Ireland was abandoned without a ball being bowled after persistent rain at the Sinhalese Sports Club in Colombo on Wednesday.
Incessant showers prevented the toss from taking place, with match officials opting to call off the game early to avoid any risk of injury to players.
Pakistan arrived in Sri Lanka in confident form, having recently completed a 3-0 clean sweep of Australia in a home T20 International series.
The Men in Green are using the warm-up matches to fine-tune combinations ahead of the World Cup.
