Punjab CM announces distribution of 3 to 5 acres of state land to poor under ‘Apna Khet, Apna Rozgar’

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz announced Wednesday that 3 to 5 acres of government agricultural land will be distributed among poor families across the province under the “Apna Khet, Apna Rozgar” programme.

Addressing the inaugural ceremony of electric bus services in Rajanpur, Maryam Nawaz said the initiative aims to provide sustainable livelihoods to underprivileged citizens and promote inclusive development across Punjab.

She stated that no district would be left behind, adding that Punjab’s trajectory had changed over the past two years.

The chief minister said development of backward areas was a top priority of her government and claimed that Rajanpur’s long-standing deprivation was now coming to an end.

She announced that electric buses currently operating in Lahore would also be introduced in Rajanpur, ensuring better and affordable transport facilities for local residents.

Maryam Nawaz said electric buses would operate on every route in Rajanpur and added that the provincial government was expanding the project across Punjab. She disclosed that 1,100 more electric buses were being inducted into the province’s transport system.

During her speech, the chief minister also criticized the situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, saying that public awareness alone could not replace basic necessities such as food, healthcare and education.

She remarked that people needed practical relief rather than slogans, and emphasized that development policies should directly improve living standards.

The chief minister reiterated her government’s commitment to social welfare, infrastructure development and equal opportunities for all regions of Punjab.
