The rupee has battered the US dollar as it gained 21 paisas against the greenback making the dollar hover at Rs176.30 in the interbank trading, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

Last week, the Pakistani rupee started making a little surge against the US dollar in interbank trading 

On Friday, the US dollar after losing Rs1.51 in its value against the Pakistani rupee reached Rs176 from Rs177.51, the previous day's close.

The downward trend of the US dollar against the Pakistani currency though long overdue continued for the second day running.

On Thursday, the US dollar lost 73 paisas in its value to reach Rs177.61 from Rs178.24.
