Interior Minister Naqvi orders full-scale crackdown against money laundering mafia
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi ordered a full-scale crackdown against mafia involved in money laundering, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
During his visit of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Karachi Zone, Mohsin Naqvi chaired a special meeting and reviewed the performance of FIA Karachi Zone and South Zone.
Mohsin Naqvi said a strong hand should be laid on big money launderers and the entire money trail of elements involved in money laundering should be exposed.
He said the business of hawala hundi will not be tolerated under any circumstances and indiscriminate action should be seen.
He ordered effective action against the agents involved in human trafficking mafia.
Elements who send innocent people abroad by promising them jobs do not deserve any concession, Mohsin Naqvi said.
He said those involved in the business of fake medicines are playing with human lives and the elements involved in the heinous business should be brought to justice.
He further said the shortage of human resources in FIA Karachi Zone will be met on priority basis.
In meeting, Mohsin Naqvi was briefed that 20 agents involved in human trafficking have been arrested in 4 months.
Non-customs products and drugs worth Rs140 million have been seized in 4 months.
A facilitation center has been set up at Karachi Airport for the convenience of passengers.

Additional Director General FIA South Mujahid Akbar Khan, Deputy Director Anti-Money Laundering, Deputy Director Anti-Corruption, Deputy Director Anti-Smuggling, Deputy Director Immigration, Deputy Director Crimes, Deputy Director Commercial Banking and all Deputy Directors and concerned officials attended the meeting.
