Pakistan-Zimbabwe U19 ODI abandoned due to rain, both teams clash for title on Tuesday

The sixth match of the Under-19 ODI tri-series between Pakistan and Zimbabwe was abandoned due to persistent rain on Sunday at the Old Hararians Sports Club, forcing officials to call off the contest without a result.

Zimbabwe were unable to resume their innings in the second half as continuous rain showers disrupted play.

Despite the washout, both Pakistan and Zimbabwe have already qualified for the tri-series final, scheduled to be held on Tuesday.

Earlier, Zimbabwe produced a disciplined bowling performance to bowl out Pakistan for 208 in 46.3 overs after the visitors won the toss and elected to bat.

Pakistan made a steady start through openers Ali Hassan Baloch and Sameer Minhas before early breakthroughs slowed the innings.

Sameer Minhas top-scored with 48, while Usman Khan contributed 41.

A late recovery came through a 71-run partnership between Huzaifa Ahsan (34) and Ahmed Hussain (37), helping Pakistan cross the 200-run mark.

For Zimbabwe, Panashe Mazai led the bowling attack with impressive figures of 4 for 32, while Shelton Mazvitorera and Leeroy Chiwaula claimed two wickets each.

Rain, however, had the final say, denying spectators a full contest but confirming both sides’ places in the final showdown.
