School fees for Pakistan Railway employees' children increased

Pakistan Railways authorities have announced an increase in tuition fees for schools operating under the railway system, with the revised rates taking effect from the current month.

According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, the decision impacts both the children of railway employees and non-railway students enrolled in these institutions across various cities.

As per the new fee structure, the monthly fee for children of railway employees from Grade 1 to Grade 10 has been increased from Rs700 to Rs900.

Similarly, for the children of employees and officers belonging to Grades 11 through 22, the fee has been raised from Rs800 to Rs1,000.

The fee hike also applies to students who are not wards of railway employees. Their monthly tuition has been increased from Rs1,300 to Rs1,500.

In Samasatta and Khanewal, the fee for non-railway students studying in railway-run schools has been revised from Rs1,000 to Rs1,200.

Likewise, railway schools operating in Sukkur and Rohri have increased the fee for non-railway students from Rs850 to Rs1,050.

Railway officials confirmed that the revised fees have been implemented with immediate effect.

The increase has raised concerns among parents, particularly railway employees, who say the rising cost of education adds to their financial burden amid broader inflationary pressures.
