Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has decided to give a big relief package of more than Rs68 billion on five basic items to the people facing high inflation in the country.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, the government will give subsidies on five items including flour, sugar, ghee (oil), pulses and rice.
The sources said that the relief package will be given for one year and implemented through the utility stores.
The sources said that the Prime Minister has given direction to the Ministry of Industries and Production to prepare a summary in this regard.
The summary of the Prime Minister's package will be approved by the ECC and the Cabinet, sources said.
